Did you know that each and everyone of us are really good at something? Funny, but I never really thought of myself as particularly "talented". Yet, I am reminded of this in the the Parable of the Talents (Matt. 25:14-28) in which 3 servants were given 5 talents, 2 talents and 1 talent respectively. In those days talents were equal to money. Today when we think of "talents", we picture artists, athletes, or singers.
In the parable, the first two men used their talents and gained double what they had started out with. The third buried his in the ground making his master very unhappy, calling him “wicked” and “lazy”. Now, I don't picture myself as wicked or lazy, but I learned something from this story. God has given each of us different abilities that he expects us to put to good use. We shouldn’t hide these talents as the third servant did. Instead we should use our talents and abilities for the glory of God.
This story gets me to thinking. Just like each part of our body contributes to the whole, each of our abilities contribute to the well-being of each other. So how can I use my abilities? Perhaps it is time to stop selling my patterns and give back. I am now re-opening my website to post free crochet patterns. They are copyrighted, so please do not sell the patterns. You may sell the items, or enter them in contests as I did. Please just give credit for the patterns as The Crochet Cradle or thecrochetcradle.com
I welcome photographs and comments. Please do send lots of photographs! I love to see people use my patterns, making them their own.
Many Blessings and Happy Crocheting!
Sandy
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
